I love Jinja. Everything about its slow paced laid back vibe always leaves me feeling new. It reminds me so much of growing up in Ndola which is why I make it a point to go at least two or three times a year. Famous for being the source of River Nile and the adventure capital of Uganda and dare I say East Africa, it’s got some great adrenaline pumping  activities to choose from  including white water rafting, tubing, quad biking, bungee jumping, horseback riding, kayaking and many more.

Me and the family went over the weekend for what was some much desired R&R and jam packed fun. We stayed at Source of the Smile, a lovely little patch of earth. The rooms were clean, bed and pillows soft and as one who loves a plush bathrobe, they really won me over with theirs. The showers could have been warmer though. One thing to note with them however is they only serve breakfast. Lunch and dinner you’d have to order elsewhere. they facilitate delivery for 1 to 3 people but with large groups they kindly ask that you eat out elsewhere. The y do have tea, coffee and the nicest cookies I’ve had in a while available near the reception all day. Seriously you’ve got to have the cookies. They’re that good! Once settled it was off to our quad biking and tubing adventures.
