In my quest to have the best possible skin care routines that actually work for me, I’ve come across some really great options in my research. One such thing is the mighty Bentonite Clay. Calcium Bentonite Clay is a form of absorbent clay formed from volcanic ash. This clay has been used worldwide for centuries to detoxify the body and improve skin and hair quality. The clay's ability to absorb ‘negatively charged’ toxins makes it the ideal detoxifier. Excellent for oily skin and acne, I’ve been using it as a facemask.

How To Use.

Bentonite clay can be applied topically to hair and skin or consumed orally for its health benefits. To use the clay to detoxify your skin, a mask will do the trick. For this paste you’ll need only two ingredients; the clay and Rose water. You can use purified water as a substitute.

Add Rose water or Purified water to the clay and mix into a paste. Use plastic, wood or glass utensils as the clay will react to metal. The paste may carry an electric charge particularly as it gets mixed.

Wet your skin with warm water and apply all over. Leave on for 20 to 30 minutes. Wash off with warm water and then cool water. Use once a week.

1 Teaspoon of Bentonite Clay.

1 Teaspoon of Purified water or Rose water.

Glass bowl, plastic spoon.

Mix the Clay with water to make a paste. Wet skin and apply all over. Leave on for 20 to 30 minutes. Wash off with warm then cool water.

There aren’t any known serious side effects from applying a Bentonite Clay mask online and I haven’t experienced any negative effects either. I do recommend you do a skin patch test whenever you’re trying a new product just incase you have an allergic reaction.
