MY CITY CENTRE STAYCATION AT LE PETIT VILLAGE HOTEL KAMPALA.

Recently I had a milestone birthday looming and in keeping the spirit of loving & treating myself I was on the look out for a holiday of sorts. Thanks to COVID-19 all my grandiose travel plans got cancelled so a staycation was my only saving grace so to speak. Thankfully Le Petit Village had exactly what I was looking for; A staycation package with dinner, breakfast and a complimentary bottle of bubbly. Le petit Village tucked away behind an unassuming door is an incredibly lovely 12 cottage style boutique hotel. If you weren’t looking for it you wouldn’t know it existed! I was settled in by the lovely concierge Edwin who led me up a stone path, passed a very inviting pool I was sure to be one with later and up some steps to my room.

The rooms are just as advertised. A double bed, closet, T.V area, toilet, shower and the best part, a free-standing bathtub. If you didn’t know, I’m obsessed with baths. The bed is one of the most comfortable ones I’ve encountered thus far. The whole set up was very clean, comfortable and homely. The WIFI worked very well and the robes were crisp! The rooms do have a kettle and some inhouse tea and coffee tucked away in the cupboards if you’re looking for it, lord knows I did.

Dinner was served at 7pm at Le Chateau one of their inhouse restaurants famed for its fine dining Belgian cuisine. The sparkling wine was delicious. Dinner consisted of Nile Perch on a bed of spinach and Beef slow cooked in Belgian beer. Both came with Belgian fries. The fish was to die for! The peppercorn sauce side was out of this world! My days with mushroom sauce are numbered after this!

For dessert chocolate mousse, crème brule and a complimentary cheese cake with sparklers and them singing happy birthday. An absolute treat! This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while!

I finished the day with more bubbly and a soak in the tub. The absolute perfect staycation. Breakfast was a very impressive spread with checkout at midday.

If you’re looking for a much needed breather smack in the middle of the city. Le Petit is here for you. The rooms are excellent, the pool very relaxing and the food some of the best out here. The only real drawback is the noise from the neighboring bars. I however found it tolerable. In no time it fades into the background and ceases eventually.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. I will surely come again. X
